Manning Hub

Manning Hub Development

The MCA has been involved in this project from its early beginnings (approximately 2010).  After extensive community input and consultation, a community 'hub' in the heart of Manning has been created by the City of South Perth.

The excitement around the opening event on 8 February 2017 gave a real sense of community spirit and enthusiasm for the new facilities which brings all neighbouring suburbs together. The artworks exemplify the modern architecture and complement the form and colours of the new state-of-the-art building.

The new Nova Medical Centre Manning which opened in 2020 is a great addition to our Manning area, together with the other facilities (gym, childcare, dentist etc).

The rear of the Welwyn shops is part of the second phase of the development.

Manning Primary Bushland

Manning Primary Bushland

After initial consultation and project scoping in 2013/2014, key environmental groups were engaged by the MCA which renewed community interest in the bushland. This resulted in the original Manning Primary Bushland Parents' group being reinstalled in 2016.

The Bushland Coordinator undertook extensive mapping which included mapped key aspects of drainage, erosion risks, threats, species and fauna present, seed dispersion, weed/disease control and interface with adjacent areas.

The MCA maintains an interest in the bushland maintenance and conservation.

Manning Road Clean Up

Manning Road Clean Up

Our MCA Chairperson continues to follow up with the City of South Perth regarding the maintenance of the streetscape on Manning Road.  Residents are encouraged to contact the City regarding any concerns about cleaning up our roads.

In conjunction with the Welwyn Ave shops development, the City has budgeted for further enhancements within the Manning area.
